Filament Lab ranks 3D printers and filament by the specs that actually decide print quality — nozzle and bed temperature ranges per material, kinematics class (bedslinger vs CoreXY vs delta), drying requirements for hygroscopic filaments, and realistic quality-checked print speed — not the "600mm/s" headline on the box. We don't publish prices or star ratings, every pick names an honest drawback, and every spec traces back to a filament manufacturer's TDS sheet or a printer manufacturer's published specs.

Most "best 3D printer" lists repeat the marketing sheet. We start from the mechanism: a firmware speed ceiling is not a quality-checked speed, "NSF... er, PLA at 200°C" ignores that PLA+ from one brand needs 15°C more than another brand's, and PETG left on an open spool holder for a month will re-absorb enough moisture to string and pop, enclosure or not.
